ANA Summer Seminar "On the Road" Poll

I haven't made my federal case to the ANA Educators yet, but I'm thinking...
The ANA is having cash flow issues
I want to attend a Summer Seminar
I can't spend 2 weeks in Colorado Springs (2 year old & wife, neither of which would want to go to CO Springs for 2 weeks)
Why not take the show on the road alternating years to different major hubs (Chicago, Baltimore, Orlando, Boston...) and spend the alternate year back in Co Springs
Is there any reason it need be fixed at the ANA HQ? I'd think it's a course that could be packed up and sent awheeling like the major shows do

I think there is an opportunity here to bring in more students and up their cash intake (assuming they charge accordingly more to recoup costs of taking the session on the road).

            Would you?

And if there are any obvious reasons as to why you don't think it's feasible, post it - please.

How about posting videos of the seminars on the ANA web page and make access a benefit of membership? The seminar is a money-loser anyway, so why not distribute the knowledge to every member? People would still attend the seminar in person for the comraderie.

You could take it on the road, but it would not be the same experience. Costs would be higher because you couldn't have all the ANA HQ staff at a remote event and you'd have to hire people to do all the things they do at Summer Seminar. There would be no ANA museum or library to use during SS. If they don't do it at a college it would cost even more, and doing an event that size at a college would take a huge amount of coordination and planning which has already been worked out at the traditional venue. You might not be able to get the same quantity of volunteer instructors (they are all volunteers).

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
