Submission frustration

This topic is getting tired by now, but I had to post this one more grievance:

I submitted a 1957 Topps card...not a HOFer, but a minor star (Collins) and the card came back "N:3 - evidence of recoloration".

On a 1957? They can't be serious!

What is there to recolor on that issue anyway???

  • I don't know what's going on over there at PSA. I had 7 of my cards marked evid of trim and I shot off an email to Joe last year (December). He told me to send the cards in so he could look into this for me. On 1/9/09, got this email after 2-3 emails asking where my cards are, "Your cards have been reviewed/completed but I am out of the office today.". I haven't heard back from Joe since. I've been waiting for his response after I replied that Monday would be a good day to get a hold of me...Is this his idea of good customer service? Sorry for the rant, but waiting 2 and a half weeks to tell me what happened to my cards is totally unexceptable.

I should just drive down there next week and pay him a personal visit...

I have had a few really nice and informative phone conversations with Joe in the last month or so. My personal experience with his customer service skills and business ethics were awesome.

As far as the recoloration and EOT's, every EOT I had last year is now in at least a PSA 8 holder with one in a 9 slab. If your card really isn't recolored, then it was just an error by the grader. Until PSA, BGS and SGC can afford robots that can accurately grade cards we are stuck with humans that make occassional errors.

I hope he responds back to me this week. If my cards have been already reviewed and completed as of 1/9/09, then where the heck are my cards? I live 25miles from PSA. If he taped them to the back of a turtle and sent them back, then they would've been here last week.
  • Brian, I would just call him tomorrow. Every time I have called and left a message, he has returned my call within an hour or two.
