EBAY SELLER: MKMSPORTSTOWN STEAR CLEAR

I won an auction for a POP 1 89 Fleer Glossy PSA 10 Paul Oneill card last week. The card arrived today with my owing .38 cents for postage as well as being in a plain white letter envelope. I open the envelope to find the PSA slab in three pieces and the card damaged. I know its only a $10 card, but guys I am about to go through the roof right now. This is a tough card and a POP 1. I am not sure I have ever been so pissed in all my life. What do these sellers think about? What should I do, besides ask for a full refund?

The price of the card is not really relevant.

Sellers are supposed to deliver their stuff as advertised.

Tell the seller you want a refund and send him a picture of
    the mess.

If you file a PayPal SNAD, PP will make you pay return postage.

Many honest sellers are satisfied with a picture of the junk, and
will refund w/o making buyers send the carp back.

    ...........

I suspect every seller here knows how to ship stuff safely. It
is too bad that the info never reaches other EBAY sellers.

I am very soory this happened to you Matt. I would definitly ask for a refund, and the seller should come through. I know I have had sellers ship cards to be in while envelopes and charge me $4 shipping. WTF

All you can really do is ask for a refund including your $.38. If he demands the card back you won't have to send the slab, you can just PWE it back to him. Then leave appropriate feedback and of course you spread the word here.

Your feedback is important, since you're ruining his 100% and people will look for the negative to see why. Have somebody like Storm help with wording the negative to get it just right.

The worst thing is you probably would have gladly paid $5 shipping just to make sure it got there safely. Free shipping is no good when they cut all the corners.

If he makes you send the junk back, use Delivery Confirmation.

    PayPal needs "proof" of delivery.

    Matt,

    that REALLY stinks!

it's amazing to me that the seller's DSRs are 4.9s, and he's had no negs or complaints.

an 8-year eBay veteran .... you would think he'd know better!?!?

Sorry it happened to you, I'd be pissed too.

Too bad it was a pop 1. If I had one, I'd give ya mine.

YUCK. Horrible Matt. I once got a $40 card in an envelope completely smashed. You have to know that is going to happen.

Matt, I'm very sorry to hear that happened to you...That's gotta be so frustrating and you are right that it's not about the money. Ebay needs to change alot of things in regards to those crappy sellers!

I have several cellos and wax packs I bought 2 years ago that I have stashed away....I'm going to rip em and see if I can find a card for you.

What other cards do you need?

  • Hi Matt. Sorry for the problems! I would not only demand a FULL refund for the purchase but for the postage you paid to him and the postman who delivered it! On top of it, if he wants the card back, demand that he pay for it or else he will get negged! And everyone knows Ebay dealers with 100% fb will do anything to protect that. If he is completely responsible and takes care of the situation, I would still still give him a neg to teach him a valuable lesson! The problem with a negative now is, it only effects you for a year!

    Best of luck~

  • Sorry Matt. Next time I will mail your cards in a bublemailer.
  • I agree with the above posters, demand a full refund, and after you get it neg him. That is insane.

Unrelated to cards, but last week I had a moron return a couple of small automotive bulbs he ordered over the internet in a plain white envelope. Yeah, glass bulbs in a plain envelope. What was that guy thinking?

All that showed up to me was a torn envelope.

Sometimes I just don't get people. He was returning about $3.00 worth of bulbs that he must have ordered wrong, spent 42 cents to return them and now gets nothing

Refund is expected. The frustration over a card you wanted and paid for being dlvrd like that is the problem.

Once a non-criminal seller refunds for his "mistake," it is probably
    counterproductive to NEG them.

Maroooons and newbies need incentives to "do the right thing."
NEGs - after refunds - kill those incentives and can harm future
    buyers.

    Or something along those lines.
