I'm at a loss for words at the kindness and generosity of people on this board. WOW, 2 more! Thanks

I'm usually the type of guy that doesn't like receiving gifts simply because I have a hard time saying thank you. Ask my fiance - I'm impossible to buy for.
But I was simply overcome when I went to the mailbox today. As some of you know, I was laid off from my job as a marketing director at a movie company just before Thanksgiving. It's been tough, but thankfully she's still working (on Gary Unmarried on CBS - watch!) and we're still planning on getting married in a small ceremony on June 18. The entertainment industry get's really jittery in tough economic times and middle management is usually the first to go. This is the second layoff I've had in 3 years.
So I get to the mailbox and I see a few packages and I'm thinking...I have not bought anything in awhile. I open the first one and this is inside:

Actually, only the two Martin cards were in the package from Matt.
The Yaz card was in a separate package from Tonya...do you guys not talk?!?!
And the third package that I received today was from Paul - someone who I have yet to complete a trade with, and yet he decided that he wanted to send me something too:

So let me say first, I bow down to you:

and

(I couldn't find Tonya's icon quickly)
I can't thank you guys enough. Rest assured, when the time is right the gestures will be returned, I can assure you of that.
I actually don't have any local friends that I talk to about cards so I really enjoy being a member of the commuity here. Since I've been unemployed I've also been trading up a storm with board members and I owe a favor or two to guys like InitialD, BoSox1976, Mphiking, Ahmanfan and corvette. If I'm forgetting anyone I apologize.
But aside from a public thank you I wish there was something I could do to thank you guys today. I'd take you for a beer or 8 if we lived near each other. You really made my week.
~Mike

Just jk of course. Nice under the radar move, Rube has taught you well. That Martin RC Update appears to be the silver version. Unless all the RC's had it, I know the product had the silver one per a pack and the gold every whatever.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Edit: and there may or may not be autographs involved.

This board IS full of real nice people. I have truly enjoyed the past few months on this board!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
i guess, if it wasn't for the bad people on the boards you wouldn't be able appreciate the great ones as much
as always a class act

That was really over the top awesome of everyone. My fiance was floored when I told her. She has a lot of friends from a message board that she frequents who sent us Christmas cards this year...and I thought that was over the top!

Yes we did keep it toned down too, but it was still special for us.
Edit: I saw Stevie Wonder in concert last year. It was awesome.
Thank you
Ok, here goes. Again guys, I can't believe this generosity. It's truly embarrassing.
From Nam...Nick, I didn't know 72 OPCs had different backs. That's really cool. I've never owned one. I'm thinking I'll put the Lonborg and a few others in the mail for autos. They're really cool. Think Fred Lynn would sign a mini? Thanks Nick!!!
Then I opened Matt's (MBMiller) package. Pedroia and Papelbon are my favorite Red Sox, so the GU Papelbon is really sweet. I put together 07 Goudey but not 08 so it's really cool to have a few. Matt was also really kind and was talking to me about his contacts around town and really helped keep my spirits up. Thanks Matt!!!!
Chris (Slantycouch - by the way, what is Slantycouch???) and I were PMing about a project he was working on and I sold him something for it months ago and I asked him about the 88 Leaf Fisks that he pulled and mentioned that I had all the biggies from 06 Bowman Heritage autos (Gordon, Maybin etc) and was considering finishing the set someday...so what does he do? Got me 1/4 of the way there in one shot. Man, you rule. Thank you so much!

Me too. It's sad that I can't even get rid of them in his hometown.
It contained:
Felicia, that was so nice of you, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. That 73 Team card is one I've actually been looking for! You have my sincere thanks
The second was from Craig (Gumbyfan), who I will never call Dumbyfan again...not that I ever did, I just won't start.
I've basically run out of different ways to say thank you, so I'll simply say thanks and it really means a lot to me. I'm a mail junkie so seeing a few packages in the mail has really made the end of my week. I foresee getting a bite on a job next week since I have so much good karma coming my way from all of you.

I'm glad you like the cards! The Boggs rookie was the one "hit" in an 83 Topps Michigan box I ripped a while back and makes for a great TTM candidate. Happy to help lift your spirits...and best of luck on your job search!

And an hour ago I opened this one...Doran, did you even know I'm one of the 3 boxing fans left on the Earth or was is a lucky guess?!?! This thing is awesome. If I can do any infomercials for your work as a cardmaker, count me in. Thank you so much!
