Special "Thank You" to Earl (EarlsWorld)

Earl sent me this phenomenal mouse pad that he made himself. It's easily my most cherished piece of sports memorabilia and the closest thing to a Mickey Mantle card that I'm likely to ever own! What makes it all the more special is that I didn't purchase it. Earl sent it to me as a gift, just because he is a generous person.

The scan is a little distorted because of the plastic in which the pad is wrapped. It really is spectacular. THANKS, EARL!

I just want to thank you Brett for your kind words. I was very touched by your gratitude and humbled as well by this post. It was all my pleasure. I'm glad you liked the gift as much as you have.

With your shared public acknowledgment here with everyone, I thought it only fair that the good people of this forum know the whole story! You see, Brett is quite the generous person himself. My first encounter with Brett was through a recent selling post I had responded to. The item I was interested was no longer available. I shared with Brett how much I had hoped to buy this item, but it had been sold. I thought that was the end of it. However, I later received a PM from Brett that went like this:

    Earl,

I have a lot of about 80-100 1970 baseball cards that are in similar condition. If you want those I will gladly send them to you, FREE.

    Just let me know.

    Brett

And the nerve of Brett calling me generous! Brett would not accept any money from me for postage, he simply wanted me to have the cards as a gift. I was speechless then and still speechless now over the generosity of this person. And publicly I wanted to let everyone know what a GREAT guy Brett truly is. I have read a lot of threads on the boards about the generous things people have randomly done for others and it proves the point again what a great bunch of people we have in this great Hobby! Thank you, Brett. As a result of such a generous gift, I am now collecting the 1970 Topps baseball set! The cards are absolutely, BEAUTIFUL and I will always cherish them, Brett. Now you know....the rest of the story! Thanks again, Brett!

  • Earl do you sell these on EBay?If so I think I bought a 1957 Topps Frank Robinson mouse pad from you.It is great.

I'm with you Earlsworld. Brett is a great guy. He has sent sevearl 1972 and 1977 baseball cards to help me out with a few sets. Never wants anything. If I had a keener grading eye I'd send him things. My family is going to visit San Diego in the summer and I've already asked if I can see his collection.
Glad to know Brett as well!
