Digital Camera Help

I need to get a digital camera for a number of reasons. For one thing I can actually post some pics hear on the board. I'm looking for something that I can use in my wedding photography business, action sports photography and posting here. Right now I'm using a Minolta Maxxum 7000 with a 28-80 and a 70-210 lens with a telephoto flash. Any good ideas would be appreciated.

I've had really good luck with all the Canon Rebels, I have the XSi right now and love it!

Sounds like you have a camera. A copy stand and some Ott lights PLUS that book and your on your way.
BTW flashes do very little good with coins. Alos if it is availabe for your camera a remote shutter release might come in handy.

If your digital camera does not accomodate a shutter release, you can use a tripod to keep it steady and set the delay timer for ten seconds or so for a hands-free, steady shot.

The Nikon D200 is a great camera, but comes with a "great" cost. They're around $800 -- just for the body without a lens. Then again, they're only about half the price of the D300....

The CHEAPEST, high quality MACRO lens around might be 50mm Macro lens from the old Olympus OM1 line.

I got one off Ebay for $55.

Also, I think they make adapters that might work for Canon/Nikon.

I've got a fridge full of film I'm trying to shoot and will inventory my coins this weekend.

I'll give a lens report.

If I switch to an Olympus digital model, their system turns it into a 100mm Macro.

Might be worth looking into instead of spending $400 on the newer Macros.
