59 Topps Help

I recently have come back to collecting baseball cards and started on the quest to fill in my 1959 topps set. Most of the cards are raw but I'm trying to fill in the non-commons with PSA 7s. When tracking the graded cards on Ebay, I was a little surprised that most of the cards I've followed have sold at or above the SMR value. In addition, most of the 'Buy it Now' listings on Ebay are priced well above the SMR value. Is this just the market for '59 Topps or is there a better way to find 'deals' on these cards. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you!

    Saprky72,

1st of all ... imageto the boards,

I've noticed that many high end 7's are getting premium prices, but even more so for 8s and up.

Some novice buyers might be assuming that vintage cards are more affordable now with the tanked economy and all.

Before this thread has ended, I'm sure you'll get a few other opinions.

p.s. Is your ID supposed to be Sparky72 by any chance? Not poking fun or anything, it just looked like sparky when I first saw it image
  • In my haste to sign up I did mis-type my User Name...it should be Sparky72

    Good catch!!!
