Question for Numismatic Book guys

Recently was given a copy of Ed Frossard's Coin Collector's Journal, Vol. 1, from 1875, came out of a box in the attic when my wife's friend was cleaning out a deceased relative's house. (Unfortunately, no coins in the box.) Only missing the back cover, overall, it's in pretty good condition considering the age and the fact that it's a soft-cover book. Is there any demand for something like this?

Yes. I assume from your note that it was hardbound and is missing the back cover, they also come unbound. I'm also assuming that all twelve months are there. A knowledgeable collector would probably pay about $50 for that volume. It might (and maybe should) go for more on eBay. I am working on an article on them now as I think they are, in general, undervalued, although V.1 is the most common (I think). V.13 bound in original cloth is worth a minimum of $1,000.

Charlie Davis has a full set in his auction that closes on Saturday. Estimate is $1500, but it should go higher. FYI, It's by Scott, not Frossard. Frossard published Numisma.
