player lots

when did seller stop the 100+ count player lots? i can remember buying lots of 89 and 90 upper deck player lots. too bad i missed the griffey's? seems like they were around $3 or $3.50 when they first hit. does anyone have an SCD where the lots were being sold back in 89?

Thanks,

David (LD_Ferg)

This guy is kind of the modern player lot person to go to...

I do but won't be able to dig them out until tomorrow (don't want to wake my wife and son up). So if no one posts any scans tonight I will see what I can find.
  • sometimes it pays off, sometimes not lol

I bought 200 87' topps Barry Bonds RC's for .12 cents each image Sold the last of them right around the time he broke the HR record.

sadly i also bought 200 Don August Olympic RC 's!

I've got something like 1500 87 topps Bo Jacksons' and 500 87 topps Will Clarks'.
There used to be a dealer named JimCarr I believe who advertised in SCD and that's where I usually got mine.

I had a neighbor who bought 12,000 '87 Topps McGwires for $.16 each in March of '87. The cards weren't scheduled to ship until May, and of course by then all hell had broken loose. He had to threaten a lawsuit just to get the cards delivered.

Let me tell you, he was a VERY popular man that July at the old Radisson show in Plymouth, Mi.

Well I know where the 89's are BUT don't think I'm motivated to get them as they are in my closet of doom and of course on the very bottom of the mess.

Did manage to find a May 4th 1990 issue (man they sure were big back then). 89 Upper Deck Griffey was being sold for $13.
