Deceptive Seller?

Stumbled across ebay user smoo7th while doing my searches today. He uses small scans and no scans of the backs. That in itself is not the problem. He uses the same description in each listing and you can clearly see the cards he "describes" as having 'great centering' do not in fact have great centering. Most have tilts!!!
Here is a link to his current auctions: myurl
Just one of my ebay pet peeves. Thanks!

NOT saying it is so, but that post makes me wonder if it
is made in retaliation against a poster here who is involved
in a minor controversy with an EBAY seller.
Just speculating, and if I am mistaken, I apologize.

I think this seller has demonstrated honesty on ebay (i.e., years of good feedback, etc.)... But I can understand the "boiler-plating" in descriptions (i.e., "great centering") can be frustrating for buyers. You. as a buyer have to "look thru" some of those descriptions as nothing but "boilerplate". I believe this seller is not doing this to deceive potential buyers, but "just cutting corners" and saving time.
I'm not saying this is proper, as "you caught it" and it DID bother you! Ask seller if he could send you a larger scan and also a scan of the reverse, of the item you are interested in. I have a feeling this guy would accommodate your request?
So good sellers can be lazy too!

I must agree.
Deceptive Scan ?
And, a review of completed listings by that seller indicates
he can really make a scanner sing.
<< <i>It's a fair pet peeve, but I think that the scans are reasonable and the description is canned ("This is a great card, with perfect clarity, NM-MT corners, great centering, and the back is super clean"). Just because he's too lazy to write a new description shouldn't be a reason to label him as "deceptive." If there were no scans and just the text, then you would have a more valid point, but all things considered, I don't really see this as deceptive and I've seen far worse than this... >>

Scott,
I think you nailed it!
Plus, if someone does describe the centering as "great" and you interpret it as "not great", just don't bid/buy!

So let me get this straight, all this jumping from thread to thread..my head is spinning...
Smooth07 ( Ron
then he came on the boards and complained....
Now we have a thread about a seller known as smooth07, (Ron
Is this correct?
Here's what gets me...
If and I say IF the OP of the thread about RON B's scans did in fact do this ( sell ron b the doctored scanned card in question) and is a board member here,
YOU NEED TO BE BANISHED FROM THESE BOARDS FOREVER!!!!
if not, then no worries.
again, I said IF!!!

Thus far, nobody said that.
This thread - obviously meant to bash the buyer of the DECEPTIVELY scanned card -
could have been started by mere coincidence.
hmm.
This is why I don't bother too much with who the posters are here and what their eBay ID's are.

Could be just a simple coincidence.

OK. Well, if it is, then it is. If it's not, then it's not. Unless it isn't in which case it is... Coincidently...
<< <i>I am not Pete and I am sorry if I interrupted a perfectly good internet brawl. >>

P.S. some of these threads do tend to take on a "life of their own"
