Mint Errors Legal Tender?

Are mint errors such as finger feeder errors and no-date strikes considered to be legal tender?

    I would say yes. Because at some point it would have to have been monetized in order for it to leave the mint. Therefore it is legal tender.

    But if it were to leave by a nefarious (sp?) route then no; perhaps a good example of this is the sac/state quarter mules. Some were ruled legal, others were deemed illegal to own b/c of how they left the mint. JMO.
