It doesn't take any. It's a dedicated scanner.

"All in ones" are not very good if you want a nice scan
  • Well that blows. Now I have to move all the stacks of cards off the desk to make room for a flatbed. Is there any all-in-ones that scan good? With the new baby the wife has gone crazy printing pictures of her.So I would like to keep an all-in-one.Anybody have any experience with the new Kodak ones?

I have the same problem. I am spending way to much on ink, why can't some genius come up with a solution.

Ummmmm... just don't print anything. That should solve the problem of the cost of cartridges!

1). All in 1 machines are the lowest quality components (printer, scanner).
2). They sell them cheap to get you to buy their ink and toner.
3). Try to get an HP Scanner if you can

Last month I picked up am Epson Perfection V300 directly from Epson. Cost was a very reasonable $99.00. I even found a coupon code on the Internet for free 2 day shipping.

That's like asking razor companies to make cheaper blades. Printer companies make their fortunes on ink not on printers. Hence the high cost of ink and the low cost of printers.

There are alternatives but they are not yet widely available.
