Ever stare at a coin

Have you ever stared at a coin you absolutely adored in the past and then come to realize you dislike the coin and want to sell it? Happened to me the other day for the first time. image

Could we see a pic? What made you change your mind?

At one point my "BU" Lincoln cents suddenly turned into "+/- MS63 ~RD". From then on, I began to prefer brown copper.

Color it looks orange instead of red with a lot of cartwheeling. It is a 29 Lincoln. Tried putting a couple photos up but I don't use photo bucket and it won't let me put anything bigger than 50 kb so no pics today sorry

Yes... it was this particular $5 Lib. I was mounting my "learning curve" for grading these when I noticed hairlines in the reverse fields. The more I looked, the worse it got. I was finally able to hold the coin at the angle to where I could take a decent image. I posted the images to the forum both here and ATS confirming my suspicions. I took the coin back to the dealer and purchased something else.

The more you look at your coins, the more you will notice their flaws. The trick is to appreciate the positive aspects. Unless your whole collection is graded 70's, they will be imperfect.

For me? No was just a nice coin for 6 months or so and now the color seems all wrong to me.
