Shipping coins home from a major coin show ?

Does anyone have the coins you buy at a show shipped home instead of carrying them by hand ? I don't want the airport people looking at my coins. If so, do you get the dealer or auction house to do it for you? I see the US Post Office sets up at some big shows, but I never understood what they are there for. How do you arrange this and what do you use for a return address ?

Why do you not want to go through security with your coins? I would think this would be safer than the postal service.

BTW - I've never had a problem with airport people.

Well, I don't want to ride around LA on Supper Shuttle and mull around LAX for hours with expensive coins in my pockets. Plus I may take an extended vacation and don't want the coins with me the whole time. etc..

I understand the some dealers use Brinks and don't transport the coins by their selfs, so I was wondering if other collectors take similar precautions.

Well, now that's a different scenario.

At the Money Show of the Southwest, FedEx has several pickups daily. TPGs send out a constant stream of coins for grading.

I once bought a raw coin and submitted it to NGC at a show. Got it shipped that way.

Make sure your rental car is a focus. Leave the doors unlocked and nobody will bother it. --Jerry

Many dealers and most of the larger companies ship their inventory and new purchases back to the office. With proper insurance it's safer and much less painful than hand carrying all those bulky coins.

It doesn't happen often, but when there is a problem with TSA personnel you'll wish you shipped your coins instead of carrying them.
