Belgian boar hunting gilt plaque thing with case - what is this?

It's round... it's flat. It's not a coin and I don't think it's a medal, but maybe it's close enough that someone here will recognize it.
Flat piece depicts a boar hunting scene with a man spearing a boar while another man has lost is gun and fled up a tree. Reverse is blank and incompletely gilded. Entire piece is enclosed in some sort of brass or gilt circular frame that has a very ragged edge on the reverse where it appears to have been attached to something else at one time. Diameter approx 69 mm including frame.
That gilt disc fits nicely into a high-quality metal case depicting Prince Frederick of Belgium and Princess Louise of Prussia (FRIDERICUS NASSOV. BELG. PRINC * LUDOVICA REGIS BORUSS. FILIA). Case is 73.5 mm in outer diameter and 16.2 mm thick.
Considering that the plaque appears to have been pried off something, and that the case is much thicker than the plaque, I assume I'm missing a piece.
Can anyone tell me any more about this item?
Thanks!
