Advice on an ebay store please

Hi All,

I'm no newbie to ebay. I have 2000 100% positive feedbacks. My user id is durango444. My question is how do you ebay store guys do with it? I have several thousand cards that might book from $1-$20. Is it worth the effort of selling them in an ebay store format. I see guys like Rube do it. I was thinking of doing a few listings a day every day and seeing what happens. I also have a lot of diecast stuff and other various crapola. I have a full time job as an ebay manager at a BMW dealership where I have been 15 years. I would love to hear any advice or opinions about opening an ebay store. The good and the bad. Any constuctive input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ed

  • I sell a lot of $2-25 cards in my store and have done pretty well lately. A lot of the cards I sell sit there for a while waiting for that one fool, I mean person that is looking for that one specific card. You are going to lose money with $1 BIN's with free shipping like some people do. Anything I list for over $10 BIN I always include a best offer option if I am just trying ot get rid of it. Most people will only offer a little bit less and think they got a steal.

If the cards are just sitting there and you've got nothing better to do with them, you may consider sending your stuff to checkoutmycards.com. Last I hear, it costs 10 cents to list a card and they take a percentage of the sales price...but you don't have to do the packing or shipping, or handle the customer whatsoever. Just send them your cards and pay your listing fee.

  • Thanks LSU,

I always wondered how someone could have $1 buy it nows and free shipping. It has to be your only job and you must send them in a regular envelope. It always seemed like a negative feedback waiting to happen. My deal is a $2.50 card is penny sleeved and top loaded then put in a graded card sleeve with bubble mailer. I charge $2.50 shipping. I like your store. I like the GTC part of an ebay store. Would you recommend it?

    Thanks, Ed

    Isn't

<< <i>If the cards are just sitting there >>

    and

    << <i> checkoutmycards.com >>

    redundant?

If you have a lot of stuff, I'd recommend sportlots. Zero listing fees, and while they positively ass hammer small sellers if you can move quantity through their site your final fees will be on par with what you'd pay on Ebay.
