PCGS: Attribution of Additional Jefferson Varieties

I just received this reply from Peter, PCGS, when I asked him how the 2004-P Peace DDO and the 2005-D Speard Bison varieties made there way into the Registry Sets.

"I forwarded your request for information to our variety expert and here is the response I received:
Since it is not currently in the cherry pickers guide we would not recognize it currently.
For those two coins there was enough demand/excitement when they were discovered and enough coverage in the numismatic press to warrant a separate PCGS number for them. There are thousands of minor double dies/re-punched mintmarks that we do not do."
In an earlier email to Peter, I asked if they were going to start attributing the two new coins that now have an FS number, 1958-D/Inverted D and the 2005-P Bison SF DDO. His answer was NO, they are not in the CPG.
Many of you may not care if PCGS were to attribute additional varieties, but the above answer pretty much does not set well with me! The CPG should not be the gospel nor should media hype determine popularity of specific varieties…..we should!
In a previous post, we started identifying some great varieties that PCGS should be attributing. May I suggest, if you so desire, writing this Peter guy recommending 4 or 5 varieties you would like to see them attributing. I'll recap a few from the previous post:
1939-D (Rev38) DDO-001
1953-D/Inverted D RPM-001
1958-D/Inverted D RPM-005 (FS-05-1958D-501)
1947 DDR
2005-P Bison DDO-001 (FS-05-2005P-1001)
