What does it take to get an origional raw coin off E-Bay?

I'll tell ya, it is getting harder to detect coins that have been altered in anyway when buying from E-Bay! I have been trying to get a decent 1909 Wheatie that is gradable and everyone I submitted either came up questionable color, altered or cleaned. Where can one get a decent coin without paying a price like it has been graded? Just had to get this off my chest!

It takes looking elsewhere, try a B&M or coin show where you can buy sight seen. feePay is strictly sight unseen.

Ebay is just too dicey. I try to ask Ebay sellers direct questions about cleaning, scratches, damage, etc. Too often the answers are variations of "I'm not a coin dealer" or no response at all. You can't beat sight seen when it comes to raw coins. Wishful speculation about raw coins on Ebay leads to too many mistakes.

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
bad pictures
a very high tolerence for risk from the buyer
an astute buyer that can extrapolate so-so pictures and decide rough grade/condition/originality of coin
depending on what type of coin you are looking for and availability,
the success rate should be between 10% and 90%

That works for me picking off MS Classic Commems and Walkers off ebay. I think copper is more difficult, but it is more difficult for me because I do not focus on copper, and am less knowledgable in this area than for MS silver.
