Ebay consignors
Do any of you have a consignment business that you use to sell on Ebay? If so, out of curiosity, what percentage of the net proceeds is
reasonable to charge a customer? I have a person asking me to list some coins on Ebay and I don't want to be unfair. It is going to be
very time consuming to go through the lot, evaluate, take photos, and write the listings. Also, on the other end, packaging, shipping, and
doing the final accounting of all of the associated fees between Ebay and Paypal. We are talking about at least 25 listings altogether,
common date stuff, junk silver, etc. , so no "big bucks" involved. Thanks...

....and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make....

On a large collection I did last year I charged 11%, but it as over 40k. I wouldnt touch a small dollar value with similar work for less than 25% (that may seem excessive?) but lots of work listing small dollar value items , shipping hassles, etc'' I just as soon pass.
You also need to work out how your going to handle the E-bay fee structure, returns, and worst case a charge back, etc????
of the dollar amount of the item. I also will wait until all has been received by the buyers with a positive feedback before I will consider the
transactions complete. That way, any problems or chargebacks don't bite me and I have to chase after him to recoup some money paid out
prematurely. This will give me a good idea and be a good test as to whether I want to get involved in other potential consignment deals..

20 % does sound fair to me but it can also depend on who is asking you
to do it.
Family pays more,
20 % for Joe the Plumber,
Good Friends
and Grand Children free is the best way.
