Crossover from BVG to PSA(Pic Updated)

What do you think this would crossover to in a PSA holder? Im trying to get a PSA 7.



Edited picture and added a picture of a psa 6 I just sold. Can someone compare the borders and let me know if the BVG looks trimmed.

With your scan its really tough to get a gauge on corners. The centering is very nice. Can you put something dark behing the scan of the card, that might help pop the corners and allow a better guess if it will cross.

This card is on Ebay and Im talking to the seller about a deal. I'll ask him to scan it with the top open.

You will have to crack it out, therefore it will be at your own risk as crossover service is bogus.

i hope it is not trimmed, etc...you will be left with it in your hand with no holder...

Serious? I thought BVG was able to detect trimming. Should I be worried about that?

i had a 1955 bowman aaron bvg7 returned to me from psa as trimmed.

PSA 7 or better? Crack it out and then

A) Send it in with about 15 other decent looking 63s and your odds of success increase by some small amount.

Send all of those 63s in with about 75+ 1988 cards and you increase the chances that your submission will be assigned to a grader who won't murder you on the 63s.


For what it's worth, I think you have a really good shot at getting a 7 as long as you don't mind sending the card in a handful of times.

Value wise..Is a BVG 7.5 equivalent to a PSA 7? If so I would just keep it in the BVG.

Why didn't this seller have it in a PSA slab?

It looks nice but it will be a crap shoot.

If it was me I'd try the crossover 1st, minimum grade of 7.

If that failed and I still wanted it in a PSA slab I'd then crack it and submit.

I'd want it at somewhere between a PSA 6 and 7 price too.

I would not pay PSA 7 prices for BVG cards.

I had a BVG 6.5 1963 Clemente that I sent to PSA and didn't crossover. I did have two other Clemente's 60-64 which were BVG 6 that I cracked and sent them to PSA and came back as 6's. Good luck. BTW Nice Rose

Make sure you ask him if there's sub-grades on the reverse and have him give you the sub-grades. Beckett had a rule that the overall grade could only be one higher than the lowest sub-grade. If the SURFACE sub-grade is significantly lower than the rest of the other sub-grades, STAY AWAY, as I doubt it will cross. For example, the surface grade is a 7 & the edges/corners/centering is in the 8s or 9s --- I would assume the card is trimmed/cut from a sheet and will not cross. My 2 cents.

I dont think BVG puts subgrades on their cards.

When BVG first started they put Subs on their cards and then went away with it. I like Beckett, but they make to many changes.
