Brutal Poppage for first submission

Well, I just got the results for my first submission and I think it might be the last. I own a couple hundred psa cards and I rated mine against what I had and I submitted what I considered to be 8's. I thought at worst I might see a 6. My 59 Starr had gloss, four sharp corners and good centering. My Namath was as good as any 8 I've seen on ebay. I just don't get it.

I guess I will see when I receive the package. Do they tell you a reason when they grade a card a particular way? Well, at least I have the only 1959 Jim Brown 6.5 in existence...

Most, if not all of us felt the same way on the results of our first time (submission that is).
In my first sub, I was a whole grade or two off in my estimates for 11 of the 12 cards I submitted. Sometimes what you HOPE for will bind you to reality.

When evaluating your cards be sure to use good lighting and powerful magnification. You must actively look for flaws. Don't take anything for granted. Be very tough on the card and you will not likely be disappointed. You'll get better at it with more experience.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
