This is my last rip for the day. I need to figure out how I'm going to store my cards until I figure what I'm doing with them.
This pack is an 82 Fleer.
Looks like a Gary Carter card. Not too bad I guess. Another card to stash for my son, a Tom Griffin card...Tom's dad and my father were good friends when Tom was on the Astros. His dad used to own a furniture store in Sun Valley, CA and always took care of my father any time we needed anything.
I'm not sure where they are anymore, but I used to have a bunch of Houston Astros posters with Tom's auto on them. Maybe they are still at my mother's house??
Good memories...And Rick Leach, He was a good QB at Michigan if I remember correctly.
Bman, you must be from the Valley. Jim Anderson still lives there. He was my racquetball partner. He's a real estate agent now and just listed a house for sale over on Lassen and Hayvenhurst.
that Steve&Carlton card has got to be the dumbest idea for a card. Fleer must have been struggling to get to 660. lame addition to the 80s lamest set. but feel free to keep rippin! would love to see that skinny, blurry, out-of-focus, unrecognizable third baseman from the Orioles!

Yes I grew up in Granada Hills and lived up by Knollwood Elm. School. My brother Randy and Doug Anderson went to school together from K all the way up to high school and played ball at Kennedy High.
Do you still talk to Jim? If you do, I'd love to get a couple of cards signed one day for my son.

I play Knollwood Country Club at least once a month! I shot a career best 78 there in September. Missed a 10 footer on 18 for birdie and an even par back nine

That's an awesome score Mike! My mom still lives off of Gerald right next to the course and I used to go up to the course all the time as a kid. How's the course looking these days and how much is a round costing now?

My buddies and I play it for $40 including cart on the weekend. It's in good shape. It's a really good money match course because it's a good mixture of nice par 3's, a couple reachable par 5's and a couple unreachable ones. The Par 4's have a lot of character too. I only wish their range was better - it's a piece of garbage

Wow, so the course really hasn't gone up much over the years. That's funny about the shooting range...I always thought it was a dump even back in the 70's and 80's back when I played there. I don't know if you were around back then, but OJ Simpson used to play there occasionally...He even played there towards the time just before he had to turn himself in on his original murder charges. I remember that day because there were news helicopters flying over my house all day back then. lol
Jim got re-married and hasn't been around the courts... I got tired of the weather and moved to Minnesota (I saw the house he had for sale when I was visiting my folks for Christmas). I think he works at the Re-max on Rinaldi and Tampa. I'm sure you can get his number from one of his real estate listings. Hope this helps.

<< <i>Those two guys on the bottom left look like they belong in the movie Major League!!
Looking at the wrapper it says that Fleer 81 was voted #1 by the hobby. I don't remember that, but I guess so??
