I want to bid on a PSA 8.5, but...

okay there is a 1975 Topps card I want to bid on. I looked at the pop report and found that out of 155 submitted, only 1 has a PSA 8.5, but there are 31 PSA 9 and 1 PSA 10. Is having the only PSA 8.5 better than having 1 of the 31 PSA 9's? Thanks for reading.

I bet there are none graded 2.

What you should do is get a real crappy raw card, submit it and get a 2. Then you'll have the only card graded 2.

TAKE THE "9" OVER THE 8.5 EVERY TIME!

    thats what she said.....
  • If you are buying it for the registry, buy the 9
If you are buying it for an investment, buy the 9
If you are buying it for your personal collection, buy the better looking card.

Many times an 8.5 will have much better eye appeal or centering than a 9. This is even more true in lower grades, where a 6.5 could be much better looking than a card with slightly sharper corners that gets the 7.
