Need help with Ruth Little League Bat ID

Hey Guys, I had a client drop this old Ruth bat off last week. I have looked everywhere for any info on it with no luck. Anyone have a clue about this little league bat? The hand painted Ruth picture is pretty cool looking and the bat is made by Louisville Slugger.

THANKS

    Hi Mike,

Looks like a 1951-57 McLaughlin-Millard Little League Model #252J bat made in Dolgeville-NY, USA.

Should have "Flexible Whip Action" to the right of center label, and the letters in "ADIRONDACK" are much thinner than the 1946-50 model #s.

Another indicator of this model would be the "Northern White Ash" which appears in script entirely above "ADIRONDACK".

The Professional Model of this bat is model #302.

I'd estimate the value of your bat somewhere between $30-$50.

  • Thanks again PoppaJ. FYI my client bought these bats for a dollar each at the local flee market this past summer. That never happens to me except for the casino!
