that say "PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - 2008 NFC CHAMPIONS"?
You know the stuff is there at the stadium in case the Eagles had won.
I'm not talking home-made signs brought by fans.
I mean the NFL licensed merchandise the teams wear, the newspapers print in advance, etc.

<< <i>It costs what $10 to make a hat? Im sure they make a few dozen, and toss them after the winner is decided. Not a big deal. >>
Few dozen? Try several 1000's of various shirts, hats and the like.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
<< <i>Yep they send it over to Africa, Southeast Asia etc. or to SteveK's house. >>
That's just sad. Well at least the Africa, Southeast Asia part.

I highly doubt they make "thousands"...

The article referenced notes 288 (or something like that....read it earlier) hats and shirts but they are only referring to items Reebok made for the teams that won. I have never seen a big game where fans could not purchase things as well instantly after the big game.
You should also understand that the Home Shopping Club usually always has the items for sale the instant the game is over and they will be in Walmarts across the nation within days. All of this stuff is made ahead of time. If you wait to after the game to start production you could not get them out in time.

This is VERY true. I've been to a few bowl/conference championship games in college football and baseball and immediately after the game ended you could buy a variety of different " (insert game here) Champion" t-shirts.
