Philadelphia Eagles will never win a Super Bowl with McNabb at QB

couldn't have a better opportunity - I was "praying" the Eagles would catch the Cardinals in the NFC championship game - they seemed like the weak sister of the 6 teams, and what happens - the Eagles get beat. Frankly, that game today in my opinion wasn't even as close as the score indicated - reminded me of a superior horse in a race that does just enough to win by a 1/2 length and doesn't need to do more. Yes, the Eagles played hard but losing like this to a team they crushed not too long ago - i mean get the F* out of here already - i'm sick of this same BS year after year after F*in year - i really am! All the Eagles had to get was a half-arse performance from choke artist Donovan McNabb which they didn't get - he was throwing passes like it was his first game in the league, and get some kind of decent game plan, which they didn't get hence the results. and the AFC team is a weak team this year in my opinion compared to many past seasons - very beatable. and the stars were aligned perfectly with the Phillies winning and the Eagles squeaking out a playoff spot and then coming back to take a brief lead in the game...all should have resulted in a trip to the Super Bowl...but all they did was suck me in and break my heart again. Really I'm depressed and sick & tired of this chit! i need some sleep!

sure after last week they were feeling unstoppable. The truth is that Eagle fan now has something in common with Lion fan..they are both on the coach
and will both start with the same records next year.
Could the Eagles have been looking past old man Warner? I think so. Can we please just admit that Andy Reid and Donovan McNad sucks? They can't get it
done, even in an off year for the NFC, they can't win the big one. Im sure their stomaches turned when they realized that the big game was in Tampa. Afterall
the ghosts of Ronde and Matt Bryant were too much to take.
Congrats to Eagles fan, you can hang up another almost banner. See you next year!
Sincerely,

<< <i>Agree with Meterorite...McNabb is most certainly NOT the reason lost to AZ today, and he was a huge part of them even getting to this point. Bucs, for example, haven't even won a playoff game in 7 years now.. >>
Agreed. The hatred for McNabb is beginning to border on irrational. Did I miss something, or didn't the Eagles D allow 32 points to the Cardinals? It's very hard to win football games when you have to score 33 pts.-- and it's even harder when your kicker goes out to lunch.
Exactly. And all we heard all week was how the Philly D would not get skewered like Atlanta or Carolina..So much for that theory...

There's something about Philly fans that just won't let facts get in the way of a good theory. I mean, I don't see how you can pin this one on McNabb. Westbrook was very average today, and Dawkins got abused all afternoon, and of course Akers was just horrific, but you won't hear one iota of criticism about Westbrook or Dawkins because they're fan favorites. But if McNabb misses a couple of receivers on slant routes then God help him.
McNabb's problem, and it has always been, is holding the ball too long - he does this time and time again. I mean make a decision to a receiver and throw the football for crying out loud. It was basically McNabb's fault that the Eagles lost that game - if Warner was QB for the Eagles, the Eagles handily win that game, along with around at least ten other quarterbacks in the league who could have won that game for the Eagles.
<< <i>Not sure why you Philly fans always want to blame everything on McNabb. 375 yds, 3 TDs, 1 Int. is not a bad game, and I saw several passes dropped by receivers. McNabb also picked up 31 yards on the ground compared to Westbrooks big 45. 28/47 is not that good, but overall, not a bad performance from a QB. If the dropped passes where made, you are likely looking at over 400 yds and 4 Tds. Seems to me there is plenty of blame to go around. >>
Agreed. There was plenty of blame to go around. The D was uncharacteristically soft in the first half, tightened up in the third quarter and then allowed that last TD late in the game. Receivers dropped balls in their hands. McNabb was off target. Aikers blew the FG. The running game that kept opponents off balance in other games was not effective - Buckhalter should have been used more for the run, not Westbrook.
As a die hard Eagles fan I am concerned about complacency. I fear that Reid and the staff will decide once again that they have a great team, and will not address the problems. They will miss signing a valuable true #1 receiver or running back and screw with the draft as they have in some years.
Also, and this is the most important piece. Reid will continue to insist that the passing game is their game, and next year we'll once again see a greater ratio of pass to run. When you have a QB who is prone to bad days then this is not the answer.
Complacency, being happy with the status quo is what concerns Eagles fans. I almost, and I emphasize almost wish they had not made the playoffs so that some change would have been forced upon the team.
Hopefully Reid will remember that his job was on the line in December. If they had not made the playoffs I believe he would be gone today. Reid needs to step down as head of football operations and concentrate on coaching. The owner should insist on it.
One good thing though. The Eagles have an experienced head coach, not one who has received two promotions in the last few weeks. They also have a complete staff, they're not rebuilding after axing six coaches over the weekend. This is more than some teams can say at the moment.
He's the best quarterback to ever suit up for the Eagles.
Football's a team sport but unfortunately when a team doesn't win the quarterback is the one with the bullseye on him
Stop whining about Mcnabb already!
Like the Cubs fans who almost crucified Bartman over the foul ball...to the point they blew the damn ball up. Insanity!! The Cubs team lost the game, not Bartman, and the ball was CLEARLY foul. Just like the Bucky Dent, Aaron Booner homers, and the ball through Buckner's legs when the Red Sox were a mere 2 strikes away from winning the WS. Stuff happens. Need I mention the SB loss to the Giants when Eli throws a miracle ball to beat the Patriots at the end? How many Patriots fans did you hear trashing the team?? Nada.
Posting your whining about McNabb really exposes what a shallow Eagles fan you really are.
GET OVER IT
A dropped td pass......a kicker who's head was in space (really missing a PAT)...glad it didn't come down to a last second FG to win/lose.
Sure a better qb could have won the game....but the loss is not 100% mcnabb's fault

<< <i>I think Desean Jackson is a #1 type receiver don't you? I think they need to address their secondary more than they do their WR's right now. They could use another WR sure but their secondary got exposed. >>
Good point and I stand corrected. Concerned about his size though. He's a bit small in a world of big super WRs.
Maybe a bigger guy for a #2 or share #1?
too many mistakes. McNabb is just not a money qb. A good qb, but not a money qb.
