EBAY comp. auct. ADVICE -- 200296521142

I did a buy it now for this auction. It was a PSA 8 1963 #300 MAYS for $210 + $5 S/H/Ins. Sounds like a great deal to me except he did not scan the item because he said his scanner broke but I took a shot based on his feedback. If my scanner broke I would not be selling high $ cards. Then a few things struck me. In the auto fill section it said 1964. He did state no qual which was good. It also said that he only ships on Wed. He was also selling a bunch of low dollar raw 1963's and didn't mention anything about shipping on Wed only. I said I better contact him. So I get his contact info. Phone # is no good. I contact EBAY, and they get him to update his info. I call him in about 2 days and ask him a few things and he said he will be out of town and that I could pay right before Wed. and he would ship the card. Well I paid right away "PAYPAL" and you guessed it no card and it's Sunday. He only lives 30 miles away. I get an email today that says his father is in Ireland and that he will honor the price of the card when he gets back in 2 weeks or he can refund immediately because the card is in the safety deposit box. If I took a wild guess at this, the son put an item on ebay without Dad knowing? One more thing the seller/son seemed extremely wanting for me to send a check for the payment when I talked to him, which I did not, I paid Paypal. What would all of you do and how should this go down? Reported to Ebay, - feedback? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I likely would not leave any FB.
Sounds more like a screwball than a crook.
