Little OT: Anyone speak Swedish or know someone who does?

A metal detectorist on another forum found a ring with an inscription. I'm pretty sure it's Swedish.
Looks like a motto, or some kind of clever saying, but I'm not up on my Swedish idioms:
en pappa ar egentligen bara en pojke som har rakat bli stor
Something like: a father is really just a failed boy who shaves?
Any help appreciated.

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

It has more of a meaning than a direct transulation, I think.
My (one) Papa (a daddy) is wonderful with a big heart (spirit of life)
I realise that didnt answer the question but it think it is that feeling meant in the ring inspripsion
