The Official Heisman Collectibles Thread

Hello everyone,

Thought I would start a thread for everyone to share photos of Heisman collectibles. I collect autos, RC's and ticket stubs to their college games. Scrapbook sized items, however I don't mind if they are slabbed and would prefer it in most cases.

I imagine is it only fitting to start with the first Heisman Trophy winner Jay Berwanger.

Here is my not very nice at all but well centered Berwanger 1955 Topps All-American RC (Berwanger won the 1935 Heisman)...

Jason White: Not a bad college qb considering he had double ACL replacement. I wasn't surprised when his knees gave out while he was trying out for the pros

Wish I could get some more autos this weekend but unfortunately, the helmet is locked away and at the very rear of storage. Tried to get it, along with some other stuff, this past weekend but couldn't for the life of me.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Here's one of my favorite items in my collection. I got it on January 1, 1988 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. I snuck into the Notre Dame locker room (just by walking in the door and acting like I was supposed to be there, I timed it where the guard at the door had gotten up to look in the team bus, once I was inside, no one cared) and got to see a pissed off Coach Holtz and the rest of the Irish after the Aggies whipped them (My Irish returned the favor though my senior year in 93 as well as 94) This is his "nameplate" that was hanging at the top of his locker at the Cotton Bowl . I asked him for his helmet, (yeah, i was a presumptious high school junior) and he said he couldn't do that but he reached up and got this off the locker and signed it for me while standing there in all his glory (I did my best not to look down).

Despite the loss, and despite the incident that day at the Cotton Bowl (an overzealous Aggie stole his towel and Tim chased him clear across the field to get it back), he was a nice guy.
