    First HC hire here I've actually been excited about. Now lets see if we can try to manage to draft guys at their value and not trade up to get a guy we could have traded down and still got. #1 pick will be interesting. QB situation blows, but I'm not high on Stafford or Sanchez. I do not mind going OT if we trade down a little, but hate taking them at the #1 spot. Maybe we should go... WR image

    Two words:

    Matt Cassel (or some other free agent because I don't like Kitna)

    If they can sign him with lots of money it will make the draft that much easier.

    Do I see young Mr. Crabtree wearing a Lions Jersey next year? If you get him, IMO, you have a GREAT receiver who will have a long and prosperous NFL career. (Of course, barring injuries. Now all you need is someone to throw the ball to him!!!! LOL)

    Trust me...I'm a Patriots fan...you don't want Cassel (and he did a heck of a job for the Pats). You're not winning the SB for a few years in the most outrageously unbelievable scenario. Draft Stafford or the best lineman available or trade down and get a Top 15 this year and another first rounder next year. Only way to go.

    I really hope the Lions don't mess with a WR again... Calvin is a beast and they have other capable WR's on the team. When Roy was here, they had way too much money wrapped up in WR's and nobody to toss them the ball. Still can't believe they flogged the Cowboys with that trade, although it may not seem quite as bad if they release TO and Roy actually starts producing for them. I personally don't like the Cassell idea either. I'm not sold on Stafford to this point, but their QB's on the team right now blow. Kitna is still probably their best hope, but after the turmoil last year I'm not sure what to expect from that situation. Culpepper isn't the worst scenario either considering where this team is at, but he's not what he once was. Orlovsky blows IMO. He doesn't really do anything especially well. Stanton... we'll never know because he never plays. That may speak volumes, although the last coaching staffs record might contradict that.
