What? 2006?

Well, I didn't get back into ripping new products until I started reading about '07 A&G. That being the case, I haven't built the '06 set or mini set...I figure, since I'm really not doing Heritage, this is a good time to get the mini set built. I can purchase a complete base set for pretty cheap, so I'll do that later.

Anyway, do any of you happen to have an SP checklist for the set? I only ask because what I'm finding online has been somewhat conflicting.

edited to add: i'm just doing the mini set, i traded for an 06 regular set sometime back in 07

If you have the need, I have the drugs! As far as the 06 SP list goes, all short prints had a 5 as the last digit..now not all card that had a 5 as the last digit
were SP's,but most of them were. I believe that someone was selling a 2006 box on the buy/sell boards.

my mini set will be a mix of regular and A&G back. no black borders.

i am thinking about doing a black border set for 09 though.

I may be doing the A&G back set as well. It just depends on what the regular mini set runs me.

I also have plenty of leftover minis from all years, all varieties except black border, no#s, & bazookas.

And....if anyone has a #305 danica patrick, its the last one i need for my 06 mini set.

i have built these mini sets - and they are really a blast to put together!

- 2006 mixed-back mini
- 2007 reg back mini (twice, 1 for sale)
- 2007 all black border (for sale)
- 2007 all a&G back mini
- 2008 reg back mini (twice, 1 for sale)
- 2008 all a&G back mini

for 07 & 08 you can pickup lots for about .50 per mini...with maybe a few sp's thrown in...for 06 expect to pay just a little more, but big lots are a nice way to go.

I was thinking of doing a mixed set. Any mini goes.

I'm glad to see others are wanting to do it too. Hopefully we can help each other out. I'd like to buy a few boxes to rip too, but for now I'm buying lots and singles.

I may even build an extra '07 and '08 set too because I'm well over half way to 2nd sets on both. Just depends on the cost and availability. I figure they sell well during the '09 rush though.

Were there any "special" mini sets in 06? Any "special" regular card sets (maybe like the Dick Perez or States in 07 - 08)?


edit: I found the "special" regular cards... I have them.

wow, this is a blast from the past! I just busted a box of 07. Pulled two autographs including a negro league player...very nice. Good Luck finding the Bobby's!
