1967 Topps Completion!

I got my grades from PSA last night from the Jan special and they included the final piece for my 1967 set: a PSA 8 #26 Bob Priddy!

I'm finally done, now sitting at #14: Groovy 'QV. (If you lived in Pittsburgh in 1967, you know what that means!)

On to the 1969!

    WTG Nick. That is my favorite set. Starting in the mid 80's I went from show to show, EVERY Saturday and Sunday, looking for cards ONE BY ONE, for the 1967 set. That's a set that I still have (raw, of course ... who the hell heard about grading back then?) and will NEVER get rid of.

    PS It's amazing what people (including me) considered NrMt and MINT back then. Some of those cards would be lucky to get a "6" from PSA! lol

    And yes, I recall those super cool tunes played on 14 KQV, which makes it a bit surreal that you're ranked #14.

    Great job Nick,

    That is also my favorite set of the 60s. I am about 98% complete with mine which is mostly 7s, but finding those last one's is really tough. Am working on the master set and the variations are the hard one's to find.

    Teriffic job on completing this Monster Set ! Although this is not my favorite set of the 60's ( My 64's come 1st in my Heart ) this set is a close 2nd .........     Congrats Nick! Always a thrill to get that last card to complete your goal.

    Grew up in the Boston area, so didn't have KQV, but we had "Woo Woo Ginsburg" who I'm sure played some of the great tunes you also enjoyed. Also had the "Chicken Man" in Vietnam, but that was another day far, far from Boston or anywhere in the USA. Think "Good morning Vietnam".

    Congratulations! Not having any '67T cards is one regret I have of my childhood collection. I started buying as a 9-year old in '62 and have complete '62 & '63 (Topps & Fleer!) sets, most of the '64 thru '66 sets, a complete '68 set, but few '67s!! That's GOT to be one of the most strikingly beautiful designs of the '60s.

    Recent, quick popage. I've had these cards for 20+ years and decided to get them graded and take a shot at this set(in PSA 7 and above). '67 has always been one of my favorites. What are the really tough cards? Any advice would be helpful.

    Nice eye, Brian! You're off to a great start!

    I don't know if you realize it, but you picked up one of the toughest cards in the set on that sub. Not only do you have it in 8, you've got an 8.5!!

    I'm sure we '67 guys know which one it is; do you?

    I was actually salivating at the sight of his #351 Vernon Law in PSA 8.5!

    I was guessing, because every 8 Kelly I saw for the better part of a year went for what looked like more than a common should. I finally gave up waiting and picked up a 7.5

    The 67 set is my favorite set with '65 a close 2nd. I only need #600 Brooks to get complete a mostly raw set.
