I'm pretty excited with my latest eBay find ( 1987 Leaf Rip)

I am pretty excited I just got a sweet deal on eBay today. I am a huge fan of 1987 Leaf. I try and pick up a box when ever i can find them from reputable sources. BBCE will have them on a very rare occasion so I don’t get to rip them as frequently as I would like. Steve usually lists them for $35-$40 a box.
Anyway, a seller that I have done business with in the past that sells legit high quality unopened wax listed three boxes last week. I noticed that he had sold a few back in early to mid December so I emailed the winners of the boxes and asked them about the condition of the cards and how many Maddox’s they scored from each box. Both of the buyers pulled two from each box and said that the centering was pretty good and had clean edges and good corners.
I then noticed that the shipping was kind of steep on each of the boxes so I email the seller and asked him about combined shipping. He replied and said that he wasn’t looking to make money on the shipping and would charge me the actual shipping rates plus a few bucks for supplies.
I set my snipe for $27 a box which is much higher than they have sold for in the past, so I was pretty sure I would win them. Anyway, I was astonished at the final price when I checked my email and found out that I had won all three boxes. The first two I won for $6.50 per box and the third I won for an eye popping $2.77. These three boxes should keep me busy this weekend and I hope to finish up my mint set. This is by far the best deal I've won I ebay in a long time

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Notice the bidder that jacked up the price at the minimal $5 increment.

John, let me know how much he charges you for total shipping.
Now if you have other proof that I am not seeing you could be right.
When I first started on ebay I bid just like that at times.

I have no other proof. The current state of eBay makes me assume things that I would not have assumed 5 years ago. It was just the fact that the same bidder bid the minimum and stopped just as he got to the current highest bid. Notice he did not bid again or win one of the two auctions.
<< <i>The only reason you got them that cheap is becaue I changed my mind on bidding with a few minutes left. The seller also had two cases of 2001 UD golf for sale. I only avoided bidding on both cases and the three Leaf boxes because he had shill bid his 2 cases.

What were you going to bid on these Leaf boxes? He charged me $20 for the shipping of three boxes. It is very high but I am not going to argue about it considering how cheap I got the boxes for.
I wonder why the "shill" didn't bid those up to reasonable numbers!?
FYI, I bid like that sometimes and I am not shilling. Just too lazy to go set a snipe.

Well if he packs them up properly it's not to bad. Just a little over $6.50 a box seems reasonable, IMO.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you here. The person you are claiming is the shill bidder was the high bidder for the last 2 or 3 days of the auctions. They were out bid in the last few minutes of both auctions.

You obviously didn't look very close. He stopped bidding each day when he reached the highest bid. He didn't bid again until someone outbid the original high bidder. Look at the times closely and you will see it is rather obvious.

In the first auction you posted the "shill" bidder placed his first bid, $115, on Jan 7th at 6:32:41 PST. He was high bidder until 7:44:08 the same day. He reclaimed the high bid, $120, at 11:26:46 the same day. He was outbid again that day at 12:10:53. On the 8th he started bidding again at 12:12:54 and reclaimed the high bid, $135, at 12:13:44. He was the high bidder for 4 days. He was outbid on Jan 12th at 13:38:38 and the winning bidder placed his bid with about 4 minutes left in the auction.
In the 2nd one you posted he started bidding on Jan 6th at 2:33:03 and bid 7 times until he matched the high bid at $130. He stopped there. On Jan 8th a previous bidder submitted a bid of $140. On the 10th the "shill" bidder made 3 bids until he was the high bidder at $145. He stopped there because he had the high bid. He was outbid on the 12th with about 4 minutes left in the auction. If this were shill bidding he would have stopped when he matched the high bid of $140 on the 10th.
I may be reading it all wrong but this is the way I see it. Please explain it to me if I'm reading it wrong.
