Will this cross over?

I don't see this crossing to a PSA 9, but thought I'd get other opinions on the subject. Eye appeal is shot by the centering, but the card looks to be sharp otherwise. Also, I'm trying to determine if the top right corner is touched a little. Any other thoughts?

Craig the scan is a lil too small for me to give an honest opinion.

However with that said the centering and color does not look that bad to me.

I'd try a cross with min grade before I cracked and sent that raw.

If it's for your own collection, and you dont mind spending $300+ (plus grading fees to cross it) to crossover to what looks AT BEST to be a potential PSA 8.5, then go for it.

For crossover and resale, the price is too high already.

Edited: to change "to" to "too"
  • I assume the centering is off. Every SGC 96 I have owned looked perfect on the front but was 75/25 or worse on the back in at least one direction.

    Oh and, HI CRAIG!!

    Craig,

The centering looks VERY close. I tried to measure along a couple of points L/R ... (my measurements are probably off a little, because I am using J-Ruler). I came up with 37/63 40/60 42/58. So I think it would be very close. I'd be sure to measure it VERY CLOSELY inside the holder before you tried to break it out and resubmit.

I don't own the card (yet) and am on the bubble about going after it. This would be for my personal collection. I want a 9, but the prices have been driven up to double their realistic market value in the past year or so. I won't spend $400-$800 for a card that should be selling around $300. I've thought about getting an SGC 96 to cross over, but don't want to waste my time or money if it's only going to cross to an 8.5 or lower.

My eye agrees with Nick about this being an 8.5 at best...but my wishful thinking and propensity toward pipe dreams has me wondering if I can get this for a reasonable price and cross it over for my collection. It would only be a placeholder until prices on better looking 9's drop a bit. If I do go after this, I will follow Steve's advice about trying the crossover service before cracking it out to submit.

Thanks to all of you for your opinions! Even you, Bill. Oh, HI! image

I wouldn't crack it out. I would try cossing it over with a minimum grade.

I don't think it would. I've had trouble with crossing over to PSA

Craig, Its very tough to tell with the scan, but my guess with the centering being what it is, Your going to get a PSA 8. Good Luck on that search for Yount PSA 9. I have been looking for a year.
