No, I think the system works the way it is now.
Job # 1 : Beat the teams in your division so you can win your division.
That's the way it's always been and every coach knows that going into the season.
Otherwise, might as well just do away with divisions altogether
and the six teams with the most wins in each conference go to the playoffs.

<< <i>Wolf, I'm not saying division winners shouldn't be in the playoffs, I'm saying that after they're in, it should be reseeded according to records. Baltimore went 11-5 and they're going to have to win 3 road games to get to the SB while 8-8 San Diego could potentially play 2 home games. I think that's dumb. >>
Baltimore should have won one of the two games against Pittsburgh this year and then they would have some home field advantage. They didn't, though. They knew the rules going in. In 2005-2006, an 11-5 Pittsburgh team had to go on the road for every game in the playoffs and they took care of business. If you're good enough, home field shouldn't make a difference.

<< <i>Also, with the Cardinals' win tonight, if the Eagles beat the Giants tomorrow...the Cardinals will host the NFC Championship.
