Custom card for TTM

I've been really following the different TTM threads and have a ton of cards I need to send in this year. So I decided to make a custom Steve Garvey card to get signed later this year and thought it would be cool to have something different. I based the card on a 70 card and made it how I thought it would look. Everything is identical as a 70 card except I changed the font for the Dodgers slightly for a better fit. After I get it signed I plan on having it slabbed for the auto.Just wondering what everyone thinks?

Edited to add:
I've also found a few places who sell negatives and I plan on getting some to make other custom cards in the future.

Brian ... that's a great looking card ... did you ever think of leaving a blank space on the card where Steve could sign? Why don't you play around and see what it would look like that way. Either that or make the card look like it's o/c top to bottom and leave a space at the bottom of the card for him to sign. JMO

That's a great idea! I think I will have to give it a try like you and Nick were saying. Maybe I will print one card like the one I posted and do a custom signature card like Nick posted. I will try a few ideas over the next few days and post an updated card.

Thanks very much for the compliments.

OK, I've been playing around with a few ideas. What do you all think? Here is one of them (more to come),

I don't like the blank space; Garvery has a fairly large signature and he won't keep it in the box anyway

I was wondering the same thing. I have messed around with a few different variations using a blank space, but I still keep leaning towards the original look for this card. Maybe I'll have to come up with a different pic and card style to use a special space for the auto?? I'll keep trying out ideas.
  • Keep your first design. Looks by far the best.

I like this one better than the open white space... Just wondering how do you plan on printing the card out?

Right now I'm doing the final touches on the back side. Doing it totally original style for that year card. I have many professional printer shops in my area. I will bring some auto cards with me and try and find a nice thicker card stock and go from there. As far as the sizing, I will keep it factory size....I can probably have them cut it for me, or I can use my cutter here at home. I have a friend who has been a professional portrait photographer for years and I know he has hand cut photos for years. I will have to give him a call too.

Very cool please keep us update when the card comes back from the printer... I would love to know how much they charged you for printing the card.

    Good luck!

I will certainly keep you updated as well, and I will probably start doing a website for myself around mid year if all goes well.
