Just picked up this T206 Cy Young and I need help

Hello,

I just picked up this T206 Cy Young. To me, it looks it grades a Good (at best), but I believe that is has problems that are not commensurate with the grade.

My consignor wants to send it in, but is it worth it? If so, what's a reasonable retail value. I used to be in the business, but I know very little about it now.

You can click on the following links (my own web site which I use to host images) where I have stored them.

Any help would appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I did not know how to do that. As you can see, I do not post that much.

Assuming it's authentic, PSA 1 at very best. With the heavy creasing and paper loss it may only get an "AUTH" grade.

Still - for a high-profile card like this, it has to be graded.

Assuming they give it a PSA 1, are we talking a reasonable $250.00-$300.00 on eBay?

    Greg,

Not too sure what they usually go for, but here are some results from eBay the past month:

PSA 1 - BIN of $399 DID NOT SLL
    PSA 2 - Sold for $375

Two raw cards in not very good condition - $100 and $233

Yes, that is a reasonable estimate.

A high-demand T206 HOFer (Cobb, Young, Johnson, Mathewson, Lajoie, etc.) should always be graded, regardless of condition. Even if it's trimmed, that's the sort of card that an Authentic slab adds value to, because it's an assurance that it's not a reprint.

Assuming it's authentic and unaltered, that looks like a Poor (1) grade, not an Authentic grade - there aren't chunks missing or huge areas of paper loss.

It's real and it will grade a PSA 1. Very nice pick up. Anytime you land a T206 HOFer it's a great pick up. Congrads.
