alpahomo........don't run down the entire schedules. Everyone knows what happened. Utah did everything it needed to do this season......won all their conference games, won all their non-conference games and won their bowl game. They even went so far as to destroy one of best teams in the SEC. They finished undefeated and should be the only National Champion!
Florida on the other hand couldn't finish off everyone on their schedule. THEY LOST!

Missed XP or not against Ole Miss, they kick XP's for a reason. That's why they call it football. You can't just conveniently ignore that they lost. And opponents records are bull. You can't get into that. It'd be like me making the argument that Utah beat Alabama worse than Florida did.

<< <i> While I doubt Utah would beat Florida... I also didn't think Utah would 'bama. Nice to see my "weak" Pac 10 with 2 in the top 10... same as the "mighty" SEC!? >>
Couldn't have said it any better. Two Weak Pac 10 teams in the Top 10, nice!!

Everything except schedule a decent non-conference opponent.

#13 Oregon State and Michigan on the road is pretty ok.

NO kidding! The fact that Michigan had a bad year was no fault of Utah. They scheduled a game, years ago of course, at one of the known tough places to play.
While I am not saying Utah should be #1 I don't think they should be dismissed without some serious thought. Remember they beat a VERY good TCU team who I believe only lost to Utah and OK (two top 5 teams) in addition to the other 3 top 25 wins they had. No doubt they played a bunch of cupcakes too but that they beat the cupcakes like they were supposed to.
You would be doing yourself a huge favor if you put an end to the non-conference talk right now. The SEC is by far one the worst conferences when it comes to scheduling non-conference games and you know it. Don't get into this argument, because you will never win.
Come on man, the SEC teams always schedules the best... of division Iaa... for non conf games! Georgia Southern, App State, etc....
My Pac 10 sucked this year but at least they don't fill their non-conf schedule like the SEC does. No debate there.

That's basically all I'm saying. No one can proclaim the Mountain West Conference is the SEC or the Big 12, but it did finish with 2 top 10 teams and a 3rd in the top 25. Utah scheduled a Big 10 road game and PAC 10 and WAC games and beat the SEC runner up in a bowl game.
I'm not saying they're better than one-loss Florida, but because they won't play each other, I don't think a split national title is that out of line to talk about either.

RIGGED!
Pretty much the only non conference game that they'll play on the "road" is at FSU, about 2 1/2 hours away.
