Just wondering about the blue mark that tends to be in Spanswick's arm pit. Looks like a blue marker was used on the card but apprently it's common for it to be on the card. I just bought one off eBay and thought it had been marked on but I checked eBay and it seems it's a common thing.

You might want to ask this question over at the set registry forum. There they have a 1964 thread or another one
by hammerin hank who seems to be the resident expert for that set.

Maybe he can tell you more.

From what I've seen here in the Boston area, probably just over 50% have the mark. Trying to find a nice one without the mark is tough. As you said, it is fairly common.
