Question on '52 Topps Mantle PSA 4

I'm in the market for a PSA 4 '52 Mantle, though in the very beginning stages. I have a VCP subscription, so I see what they have gone for in the past (low of 10, high of 14 bascially). I guess I was looking to shell out around $10K for a nicely centered one given the economy, but you all may tell me that this card is recession resistant. Maybe it is. That's why I'm soliciting opinions.
There are two on eBay from the same seller for around 17K OBO from seller tbh39 (maybe he's a poster here), but I don't see any offers. Wonder how long those have been sitting. Link

Look for the 52 topps for sale thread.
Cohocorp is Pat.

I have had many successful transactions via eBay with tbh39 and can vouch that he's an upright guy.
Why he chooses to take pics rather than scans is a matter of choice I guess, but asking him for a better photo certainly wouldn't hurt.
Looks to me like he only buys graded '52 Topps in mid-high grade with many having qualifiers. This makes me tend to believe that maybe he had a couple '52 Topps Mantles in 4s and wants to upgrade to a 5 or 6? Just a thought!!?
As for the finding a nicely centered PSA 4 '52 Topps Mantle in the $10,000 or less range, I think it might be even harder to do during these rough times, as it would 6 months to a year ago. As ironic as that sounds, I know of a few bottom-feeders that are waiting to scoop up all the 52's they can get their hands on, to resell once this economy is back on its feet (which may be a while, but it will recover without doubt!). And paying $10,000 for a nicely centered 4 is going to be a challenge with these guys lurking around.
Needless to say, if I were you, I'd up your ante to $12,000 for the first nicely centered 4 you can find (when the time is right for you of course).
Sometimes we put things off and then look back and say, "boy, why didn't I? or "I sure wish I had ...".
I say, if you can afford it .... buy it and don't look back.
There are always going to be those that say the economy is never going to turnaround, but people generally dwell on the negative. They see the glass as half empty. And, those people are the ones that look back with regrets.
What is a nicely centered PSA 4 '52 Topps Mantle going to be valued at 10 years from now? .... who knows? but, based on the resiliency of this card through all the recessions/depressions that it's been through, I'd lean towards it being in the $15,000-$20,000 range (or possibly even higher).
Good luck and I hope you find one someday soon
