    That is very cool. Naturally I do not have one and all the ones on eBay lack the dot too.
    Any story behind the dot discovery?

    I'll have to take a look-see. I know that I've got one struck from a severly rusted reverse die, but other than that nothing stands out in my memory as far as there being something different about any that I have.

    I hear some of these Canadian coins with dots below the date are worth big bucks.

    I.e. the 1936 Dot Variety Canada Cent.

    Is it a restrike? There appear to be small lumps on the sails (rust pits?) and die polish marks near the date. I've never looked at one at this high magnification before, so maybe those diagnostics are on all coins.

    Well, these come with die polish, PL surfaces and the quality on the vast majority of these coins are outstanding...

    Is there something different about the flag off the stern or is it just the lighting in the image?

    There's only 5 examples of the Canadian 1936 Dot 1c. coin known.
