College bowl games after Jan. 1st

Just can't get into it no matter who the teams are. College bowl games after Jan. 1st just seems like a guest who has stayed at the
party too long.

    Very true and having the BCS championship game next week is terrible. If they wait a few more weeks they can have the BCS championship game right before spring practice. lol

    All the bowl games before and after New Years Day have no interest to me. Apparently others like them.

    College football jumped the shark about 15 years ago, when the national media suddenly developed this collective hard-on for the 'National Champion'. I used to really enjoy NCAAF when the goal was to win your conference, and then hopefully not embarrass yourself in a Jan 1st game. Now the entire focus is on pushing the right buttons in this laughably fraudulent BCS system, and that holds no interest for me.

    You ladies need to get yourselves into one or (preferrably) more good old-fashioned bowl pools. That'll give you a reason to watch UConn vs Buffalo let me tell you, in much the same way that fantasy football or NFL pick-ems makes the week 16 Cincy / Cleveland game worth watching.

    I think the push for a playoff system for a national champion in college football is an outgrowth of all the hoopla about the NCAA basketball
    tournament and all the attention and big money that is generated by that. Someone latched onto the idea of why don't we have something
    like this for football as well? and the media picked up on it and won't let it go.

    I liked the old bowl system myself, people got some bragging rights for beating somebody but now it all seems to be devalued if it is
    not the official BCS title game.

    If I had my way, high school and college football would be year round...the more football the better!
