If he really wanted to coach at Dallas all it would take would be a phone call to Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips would be gone in an instant.

I wish that was the case as well Brian. However I heard on ESPN, Jerry Jones is interested in the possibilty of getting Mike Shanahan for 2110.

I hope that is false and that he will consider Cowher for 2010 instead.

I've heard that too Matt. Maybe Mike Shanahan would bring back one of his ex-running backs as a coach.

Won't he be a bit too old by then?

lol, I just saw that while I was re-reading my post.

I think Shanahan is actually too old now. I don't like him as the next Cowboy's coach

it would not be right for an ex Steeler's coach to go to the dark side and coach the Cowboys. I think Bill enjoys his Sunday morning gig on t.v.

well Cowher could coach one game and get in TO's face and spit while he's yelling at him....that would be okay
  • Being on TV has got to be a lot less stressful than coaching a football team, he does seem to be enjoying himself.

Some coaches do a short TV gig and then decide they have the itch to get back to the game itself, others like Jimmy Johnson
    are comfortable just doing TV.

Cowher won't be coaching teams like the Cowboys or Colts anytime soon due to the fact he wants GM duties as well. Jerry Jones is the Cowboy's GM and Bill Polian is the colts. I don't think they will be giving their gigs up too soon. That was a stumbling block to the Jets job even though their GM agreed to restructure his duties for Cowher.

Personally I thought he would fit in with the Browns from a personality and the fans would love him but the Browns have a GM as well.

Maybe it will be a team like the Bucs.

The Browns fired their GM Phil Savage right after the season. I don't believe they have hired one yet. It's somewhat surprising Cowher wasn't at all interested in the Browns job, they have some decent players in place already.

If Jerry Jones ever wants to win again, he needs to give up the GM position. For that matter his dumb a$$ needs to just stay in his suite and not come down to the field at all.

Maybe he will realize that but I don't believe he ever will

I was in Dallas for a week after their loss to Philly and the overwhelming opinion is that Jerry needs to back off, Wade needs to go and Garrett needs to go.

But for all of the hate on those guys it was Romo who took the biggest hits. His whole "It's a fun game, if we go to playoffs fine, if we don't fine, if this is the worst that happens to me I will have lived a blessed life" line was ridiculed and played over and over on radio and TV.

Ex Cowboys were calling him out like Randy White and saying the guy is what he is, a undrafted QB from a crap college. Some went so far to say that they felt like finding him and punching him (good luck I am sure he is on a beach somewhere not careing about the Cowboys).

As a Jets fan, I found it to be outrageous that owner Woody Johnson would not cut his vacation short to at least meet with Cowher...it is reported that Cowher withdrew his name from consideration for the Jets' coaching job when he learned that Johnson would not be present at the interview...on the other hand, they wrote off Shanahan because he wanted to take a two-week break before interviewing. WTF is that all about?

I wouldn't be happy as Jets or Cowboys fan. One team (cowboys) has an owner obsessed with not only winning but also being a media darling the other team (Jets) seem to want to do things half arsed with an owner who doesn't seem to care all that much. Sometimes I think Jones doesn't care about losing as long as they make some headlines doing it.
