bought it...very old and takes 8 aa,s and has strap for unit. headphones two not bad for $50 bucks. seems very sensitive.

Ya'might go broke buying batteries but I used to have one of those and could never find anything to fault with the way it picked up quarters under the grass. If you like it (and the hobby), save the change you find and buy a Garrett Ace 250 for about 225 bucks. Compared to the 1220, this machine will blow your socks off as far as depth and trash/treasure readings... It brings lot's of bang to the game for the $$$ and uses less batteries, less often. A nifty machine to say the least in my opinion! Best of luck and welcome to the never ending search for the little circles of metal others have lost.
