How much times face are dealers paying for silver these days?

DennisHDennisH Posts: 13,990 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm leaving for the FUN show on Wednesday. A buddy is going to join me there who has about $100 face of circ. 90% coins that a neighbor of his wants to sell. He said I can have it for whatever the best "times face" buy price is that we get quoted from dealers at the show.

What numbers should we expect to hear?
When in doubt, don't.

I should have some at the store I can sell to a walkin at 10x, so getting 9x is getting top dollar. Might need a bag quantity to get that rate.

Why do they call it "face value" when the denomination is on the reverse? image

My Adolph A. Weinman signature :)

  • I stopped in today at one of the local shops and he would buy 90% at 9.3 times face value.
