Would this rare 1951 Bowman Mantle command more auction dollars in a PSA slab?

This 1961 Bowman #253 Mickey Mantle SGC 84 is being auctioned at the upcoming SCP Auction,
Don't you think it would do better in a PSA Slab rather than a SGC coffin? (guess I just noted my opinion?)

What are your comments and feelings about this?

thanx fattymacs!
Guess it wouldn't hurt to ask PSA to only crack it, if it can get a 7.5 or better? For the price of a PSA regrading fee, it could fetch more in the PSA slab?
Oh well, I'm off to Dolpins Stadium for the Wild Card game! (even if the Ravens "kick their butts", I'll be rooting for the fish!)

While I agree with the first two posters, I can respect your wanting to move the card to a PSA holder for whatever reasons.
Some people just plainly prefer PSA (as you and I do); some people are PSA Registry Set owners and would like to have the card crossed over for that reason.
The only dilemna would be cracking out this +/- 5 figure baby without damaging it. That would hurt!
Of course, if you have the twins to do it yourself, go for it!
Othewise, I'd either let it be, or let the guys that do it for a living do it for you ... and hope they don't ding it
Personally, I don't care for the tilt, but the corners and registration look great!
Good luck no matter what you decide,

Just because PSA 7's have brought more money in the past, is no guarantee it will automatically bring the +$932. The final price will be determined by who (and how many) are bidding. The SGC registry is almost non-exsistent for this set and the guy with the top set already has a better example than this one. I haven't looked at the PSA registry, but I'm sure there are some people could use this for an upgrade. For the non-registry COLLECTOR crowd, the card will bring the same $$$ in either slab. The SPECULATOR and REGISTRY crowd would pay more for the PSA version, this is common for most(by a big margin) post war cards.

Wow, that's a really ragged specimen. It has alot missing, the back isn't so bad.

My thought was if it could snag a 7.5 from PSA, it would be shown as a "recently graded card", and should command more $$$.
No guarantees, but IMO, it should fetch more, based on your fugures!

<< <i>Great Mantle SGC 84. If I owned it, I would keep it in the SGC holder, which would be incredibly difficult for me considering I am building the Post War HOF'ers set and still need that card. I think with the tilt, its better presented in that SGC holder. Do you own it? >>
I wish !!!
LOL!

I agree.
My question is, do "recently graded" PSA cards really command a premium?
I tend to enjoy the older slabs for quality myself. I have a lot of questionably graded newer slabs.
IMO it should be sent in using the crossover method with a min grade of 7.
If that fails, for whatever reason, and I still wanted it in a PSA slab I'd submit it raw
with no minimum grade and let the chips fall where they may.
IMO the tilt is just to strong for it to command hi end PSA money, even if it crosses.

If it is the cut there is a chance, albiet a very slight one that PSA would
N9 (is that the number?) it.
Also, what does the reverse look like? Is it stained? Is it too tilted?
Even with the tilt flaw IMO it is a card I'd not mind owning, at the right price that is.
