I think it is well deserved, as he did it pretty much all himself this year despite alot of injuries to his supporting cast.

Much deserved award. I will admit that playing the Chargers has me a bit concerned.

Congrats in deed. Though he won a lot of votes it was pretty close in some voters minds. The Chicago Tribune voter has a story today about his vote breakdown and how Manning edged out Warner and Brees (21,20,19 in his voting to determing whom he voted for).

I will say this based on how Brees tore apart and exposed the Packers Defense at a critical point in the year (starting their 5 game slide) I would have voted for Brees. When you consider the Packers defense made Manning look like an old Favre (21 of 42, 229, 2 INTs(both returned for TD's), no TD's and a rating of 46.6). Consider how bad the Packers defense was this year not a great game from Manning to say the least. But he was able to right the colts ship and get them in the playoffs.

i'm a manning fan (and favre and marino) from back at the UT days. however, i don't think the colts will be in the super bowl this year. maybe next year for a 4th MVP and super bowl. this is the year of the TITANS!!!

    Thanks,

How can you not give the guy MVP. They have no running game, started the season 3-4. Everybody was counting them out. No other qb could of done what Peyton did this year. He has carried the team the whole season!
  • The fact that the Colts had to run an end around on 3rd and short is a reminder of how bad the rushing is this year.

Time for Manning to step it up now in OT if the Colts 9-game winning streak is to mean anything..

Wow, guess that kind of puts a damper on the MVP award.

    Dear Colts fans,

Yes Peyton was the MVP and he is one of the greatest QB's, that's until he gets flushed out of the pocket or plays in the playoffs.

    Sincerely,

The refs cost us that game in over time! Everyone knows it. They called everything against us, and nothing against them!

    all penalties were well deserved....image

I feel and understand your frustration, but all of the Colts penalties looked very obvious. Did the ref grab the face mask and turn the Chargers helmet...Did the ref cause the Colts defensive player to grab the Chargers player's shoulder pads and pull him out of the play.

The bottom line is the Colts had lots of chances as the Chargers did and the Colts lost.

Nothing like whining after your team gets beat...yeah that was the ref yanking on Sproles' facemask...image

Look, I parlayed the Colts and Cardinals money lines - so even though I am a Pats fan, I was rooting REALLY hard for the Colts. I said that to say this...the Colts deserved everything they got. Every penalty was deserved and they did everything they could to lose that game. There is no way to blame the referees for that one. Manning had his chances. SD/PITT or SD/TENN are both interesting match-ups.

congrats on mvp 3. now focus on super bowl 2 next year. i'll pull for the colts as long as the titans are not in contention.

    Thanks,

  • just based on the stats, IMO Drew Brees should have been the MVP (5,069 yards passing - 2nd best only to Marino, 34 TDs, 17 Ints, 65.0% completion rate, 96.2 passing rating) versus Manning (4,002 yards, 27 TDS, 12 Ints, 66.8% completion rate, 95.0 passing rating)

I think he got screwed because the Saints did not make the playoffs. I guess it is hard to give someone the MVP when they can't "carry" their team to the playoffs like Manning did?!?! Now that the Colts are out, did it make sense for him to be the MVP?
