A little darkside gold....

Just learning to post pics and have a few for here. Only point and shoot but getting the posting practice as well. Comments welcome about coins or pics...

If at all possible with the terrible pics, I would like opinions on the Persian gold - I was told years ago they could be counterfeit but that same person flagged another piece as well which slabbed as genuine - cleaned.

I can't help you with the Persian one (can you weigh it and get a diameter to compare to the Krause listing?). But, I wouldn't call the Mexico "a little darkside gold"--that's what I call a BIG darkside imageimageimage.

    Cathy,

I visit the boards regularly - was a member of the old boards also, just don't post often. I think I will post more now that I have figured out how to post pictures. In 2009 I hope to learn to photograph well enough to be able to share with everyone here and over on the light side.
I have no scale or calipers for weight and diameter. Just hoping for visual cues I guess.

    Thanks for the response -

I love the design of the Mexican 50 pesos. It looks genuine to me. On the obverse I can see what looks like a struck through error above the 50, but there is damage at 12 o'clock and a scratch above the 37.5Gr. The reverse looks really clean.

As for the Persians I don't know. Hard to tell from the pictures, but the the coin in the obverse of the larger picture looks cleaned.
I suspect they are genuine, but I don't know much about coins of this country. I'm not to keen on the areas around the legends on the right hand side (obverse large picture). Reverse is a little blurred to tell.

New to posting pics, they were there I swear.. I rearranged an album in photobucket and that messed them up maybe ? I'll try to get them back.
