C'mon Vikings Fans! Buy Some Tickets!

Ticket update: 11,000 remain for Sunday
December 31st, 2008 – 10:26 AM by Judd Zulgad

The Vikings announced they have about 11,000 tickets left for Sunday’s first-round playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Metrodome. Under NFL rules those tickets need to be sold by 3:30 p.m. Thursday to avoid a blackout of the game, which is scheduled to be aired locally on KMSP (Ch. 9). However, Steve LaCroix, the Vikings vice president of sales and marketing and chief operating officer, said the team already has asked the NFL for a 24-hour extension until 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The request for an extension is usually made the day of the deadline but with Thursday being New Year’s the Vikings decided to be proactive with the league. The Vikings have not heard yet whether the extension will be granted but that likely will be the case.

Not One Ticket Would Be Left In Philly!

  • I will try and make this simple. Minneapolis (Twin Cities) SUCKS. From the engineers that laid out the highway system, to the Metrodome, right smack dab in the middle of the crap. If I NEVER to to the Twin Cities again that will be fine with me. If they had any brains they would put a new stadium NORTH of that hellhole. That said, it will get sold out. There are alot of Diehard Purple fans up "Nort" here that would agree with this , we will all be watching the game but it will be on Direct tv, while in a bar, our homes, or a fishing shack image

  • Come on Vikings fans!!!! This amount of unsold tickets sounds like a Lions home game leading to a blackout, the Vikings are better
    than that. image

Hard to believe - I always thought the Vikings had a good size fan base.
  • I lived in the cities for 10 years and I kinda liked the stadium and other sports venues downtown. Don't get me wrong, I hated the dome, but the idea of sports downtown along with all the other stuff was nice (I live in Phoenix now and it's the complete opposite). I also lived in Blaine MN where they were pushing HARD to put the Vikings new stadium. I didn't like that idea, even if I didn't live there.
Is MPLS the next Atlanta for not selling out playoff games???

Could be the sour economic conditions which I've been trying to stress in the points about the foolish spending Yankees - it's gonna affect all sports teams to a degree...just a question of how much.
  • honestly who wants to see these two teams play image
