I have a little "mad money" and have not decided whether or not to make a last minute, end-of-the-year small purchase. More likely, I will roll it into the war chest for a more significant purchase at FUN.

My numismatic New Year's resolution is to try to stay focused on my areas of interest and avoid the impulse purchases that are typically outside these areas. Now, if I could only define what exactly my areas of interest are, I would be in excellent shape.

Bought two 2008-S Silver Proof Sets on the off chance that their totals will be lower than normal. The quarters won't be scarce because of the separate silver quarters proof set, but I'm thinking maybe the dime and half will be more desirable if the final mintages is in the 700,000+ range. Just a gamble.

By the way, I bought these at the Philly Mint shop this week. This is the first time I noticed that they have video screens behind the counter listing every item that has sold out. Good idea - I guess they got tired of verbally answering questions on availability.
